It was a great and excellent hotel in a fairly nice area, so close to a bus stop and the canal in 1 hour and main square. Appreciated our standard twin room with minute bathroom...

The hotel boasts an excellent riverside location with stunning views, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The room felt a bit cramped, and the decor could benefit from some updating. Breakfast was solid but could have been better managed during busy hours.

The hotel is in a lovely location and has lots of character.
I am a management consultant by profession specialising in organisational behaviour. I am now working in the music industry. However, companies would pay me handsomely to come in to sort out organisational issues. There is a major management issue at the hotel which has filtered down to the staff..The staff seemed very stressed and it is not the thing a guest should see. There is a definite lack of proper training because the staff made some rudimentary mistakes. The staff on reception seemed the most stressed and this is the first and last impression a guest will have of the hotel. There is a definite air of uneasiness which marred my short stay at the hotel.

Fairly nice overall experience. Quirky hotel, unbeatable location, we booked the double room and loved it. The breakfast was superb and the view was particularly nice. The staff were accommodating and amicable and provided a great service. Riverside location near the centre and the river and canal, it was in a very pleasant area.

This is a splendid small hotel located on the river Avon. Staff was very friendful, breakfast was delicious, location was superb. However there was a wedding party and we heard music in our room. What we liked most of all is the connection with Bath. We took a lovely small boat, which moved us to Bath in 20 min. A driver told us history of places we saw during our calm trip.

Location
They ignored our reservation made via Booked.net - they found e-mail with our reservation when we arrived - but for some reason decided it's ok to give our room to someone else. They offered the more expensive alternative not far - but we wanted Old Mill!!! They have very old receptionist and manager - maybe they don't know how to use e-mail.

Charming Stay with a Gorgeous View
The decor felt dated, but the fine river view made up for it! Enjoy breakfast by the riverside. Just be cautious with the toast settings. Beautiful scenery all around!

The location is excellent (though the approach from the a36 from the south over the toll bridge is tight for anything bigger than a motorcycle or 2 seat car - its easy from the north off the a4). The hotel as a whole has character, is clean, comfortable and the food and staff were excellent.
Our room in the main hotel building was very disappointing, a so-called superior room was small, the beds were narrow and there were several problems with the plumbing, shower and bedroom fittings. We were offered an alternative by the manager when we complained after the first night, but were so disenchanted that we checked out anyway - so can't comment on any other bed rooms.

This was a great hotel at a great price but this was let down by the breakfast service, which was far from relaxing and we didn't feel valued as a guest. Real shame as we really enjoyed the evening meal.
